Rochdale Youth Orchestra

Introduction - Come and join us

We are inviting applications from new players wishing to join the orchestra.

We are a group of young musicians aged 6 to 18 who play to a high standard with weekly rehearsals taking place during term time at the the Gracie Fields Theatre, Hudsons Walk, Rochdale

Rochdale Youth Orchestra with musical director Jeremy Salter rehearse on Saturday mornings and receive coaching from tutors from the Royal Northern College of Music and other experts. Our repertoire includes well-known classical music and popular music. We invite young musicians who play string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments to join us. If you play an orchestral instrument we would love to hear from you.

Rehearsals are on Saturday mornings 10.30am-12.30pm (term time)

Fees are £30 per term. The first three rehearsals are FREE. If paying fees are difficult, grants may be available.

RYO is a registered charity run for the benefit of Rochdale youth by a small management committee of parents and friends.

Parents and friends: we require new committee members. No musical knowledge is required  just enthusiasm! If you are interested in joining us in please contact Garry Jones on 01706 355226 or email:

Our grateful thanks to all our sponsors including Rochdale Online, Gracie Fields Theatre, Rotary Club of Rochdale, Rochdale Childer, Rochdale Ancient Parishes Educational Trust, The Highfield Hospital, Molesworth Bright Clegg Solicitors.
